Café Saillan Carcassonne

Cafe Saillan Carcassonne Oldest Bar - Carcassonne je Taime

At the corner of Verdun and Albert-Tomey streets, at over 100 years old, Café Saillan is one of the oldest Bars in Carcassonne’s history.

At the corner of Rue de Verdun and Rue Albert-Tomey, several generations of men and women have crossed paths, still cross paths today, and will probably cross paths tomorrow.

Regulars, accustomed to coming to have their coffee at the first light of dawn, officials and workers coming to eat at lunchtime, rugby players coming to toast friendship and victories and of course tourists on holidays hoping to soak up some typical Carcassonne life.

Simple and honest and full of personality, Cafe Saillan is a down to earth place, with a good atmosphere, one of those bars you will definately return to.

At the helm of the establishment, with the support of his team is Gauthier March with his chef Cyril Rouquette in charge of the kitchen! Home cooked lunches served daily and tapas on Saturdays and afterwork evenings on Thursdays.

Fabulous selection of local wines are available as well as beers and spirits.
